What to Expect

Morning Sunrise Yoga & Breathwork – Greet the day with an energizing yoga session, designed to awaken your senses and help you feel the vitality of the natural world around you.

Guided Woodland Meditations – Slow down and immerse yourself in the stillness of the forest. bring balance and clarity to the mind.

Hands-on Plant & Tree Identification – Learn to confidently recognize 20-30 species, from towering trees to delicate wild plants, and understand their historical, medicinal, and practical uses.

Reading the Landscape – Observe how nature communicates through its plants, trees, and ecosystems, just as our ancestors did.

Edible Wild Plants & Herbs – Identify and safely forage nutritious spring greens, wild herbs, and early blossoms, discovering how they nourish both body and soul.

Prehistoric Food Preparation – Step into the world of our ancestors with hands-on experience in traditional wild food preparation, learning how early humans gathered and cooked before agriculture reshaped our diets.

Roots, Shoots & Spring Blooms – Delve into the hidden edible treasures of the season, from wild garlic and nettles to lesser-known plants bursting with flavour and healing properties.

Restorative & Relaxing Yoga & Yoga Nidra – As the day winds down, unwind with a gentle and deeply soothing yoga practice, followed by Yoga Nidra to fully integrate your experiences and connect with nature on a deeper level.

Accommodation – Get Ready to Embrace the Wild!

This isn’t a 5-star hotel retreat!! this is about reconnecting with nature in the best way possible!

For the weekend, you'll be camping under the Sussex sky, fully immersed in the sounds, scents, and rhythms of the wild. Think of it as a chance to swap the hum of traffic for the rustle of leaves and the twinkle of Wi-Fi signals for actual stars.

But don’t worry we’re not that wild. There will be toilets and showers available, so you can freshen up after a day of exploring, foraging, and embracing your inner woodland creature.

This weekend is all about deep relaxation and getting stuck in mud, fresh air, and all. So bring your sense of adventure, a cosy sleeping bag, and a willingness to embrace the simple joys of nature.

The course is run over 2 days, June 7th - June 8th

Arrival - 7th June

8am set up camp 9:00am workshop start

Depart - 8th June 14:00

You can arrive the night before at 5pm 6th June to set up your camps.

This does make traveling easier for anyone with a long journey at no extra cost. Also we will be starting early so if you arrive the day before you can get set up with ease.

Food:

This is a part catered workshop, the meals will be home made and hearty vegetarian food. (If arriving the night before on the 6th June to set up, your evening meal will NOT be included so please bring something for dinner)

This includes:

X2 breakfast

lunch: Please bring pre prepared packed lunches. There will also be lots of wild food dishes cooked up through out the day.

X 1 dinner

if you are a nibbler then please bring plenty of your own snacks for the weekend.

Tea & coffee will be available throughout the weekend. Hot water will always be available from a hot water urn.

If you have any dietary requirements, when booking you will be asked to fill a form out to let us know.

The cost of this workshop retreat is £250pp. A deposit of £50 is taking upon booking guarantees your place on the workshop

We will invoice for the remaining £200 4-6 weeks prior to the workshop start date..

Meet The Holistic Herbal Workshop Team

Phil is a dedicated woodsman, bushcraft specialist, and traditional bowyer with a lifelong passion for the natural world. He founded Chosen Paths Bushcraft in 2011, which has since grown into Phil Brooke Longbows a place where skills, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to nature are shared and celebrated.

At the heart of what we do is teaching, offering hands-on experience in a wide range of subjects, from traditional bow making and bushcraft to deer butchery, woodcraft, natural navigation, plant and tree lore, animal tracking, and much more.

Phil’s journey with the Woodcraft School in Midhurst began over a decade ago, first as a student, then as an instructor, and for the past 10 years, he has proudly served as the Chief Instructor, passing on his knowledge and passion to others.

Natalie Brooke grew up in Sussex, where her deep love for nature first took root. This connection to the natural world has been the foundation of her yoga practice, guiding her journey and shaping the way she teaches.

Her belief in our intrinsic link to nature led her to yoga, and it remains at the heart of her approach woven into the rhythm of her classes, retreats, and the sacred spaces she chooses to teach in.

Natalie is the proud owner of The Holistic Haven, a serene 22ft yurt nestled in nature, designed to be a sanctuary for wellness and self-growth. This space has blossomed into a beautiful and supportive community, where individuals come together to reconnect with themselves and the changing seasons.

As a certified 300-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher, Natalie brings a wealth of experience, blending tradition with intuition. Her classes are intentionally small and intimate, allowing for a deeply personal and nurturing experience.
